Keyboard Shortcuts and Playback Controls

Desktop playback tips for faster control.

When watching Sparkk TV on a desktop or laptop, most modern browsers support keyboard shortcuts that make playback quicker and easier to control.

These shortcuts are handled by your browser and operating system rather than Sparkk TV itself.

Common playback shortcuts

Works in most modern browsers.

When the video player is active, the following shortcuts typically work:

  • Spacebar — Play or pause

  • Left Arrow — Seek backward

  • Right Arrow — Seek forward

Click once on the video player to ensure it’s focused before using shortcuts.

Using the mouse and on-screen controls

Primary playback controls.

You can always control playback using the on-screen player controls, including:

  • Play and pause

  • Scrubbing forward or backward

  • Full-screen mode

  • Volume adjustment

These controls are available on both desktop and mobile devices.

Browser differences

Behavior may vary slightly.

Shortcut behavior can vary depending on:

  • Browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox)

  • Operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux)

  • Active browser extensions

Some browsers may use additional shortcuts or override defaults.

When shortcuts don’t work

Things to check.

If keyboard shortcuts aren’t responding:

  • Click the video player to give it focus

  • Make sure another input field isn’t selected

  • Disable conflicting browser extensions

  • Try a different browser

Most issues are related to focus or browser-level conflicts.

What Sparkk TV controls

Clear expectations.

Sparkk TV does not override or customize browser keyboard shortcuts. Playback behavior follows standard browser media controls to ensure consistent performance across devices.
